Spring is a great time to take a fresh look at the exterior of your manufactured home with an eye toward updating and adding color and charm.

It doesn’t have to be expensive and you can do most of the work yourself. There are all kinds of ideas on Pinterest (see “exterior updates for one-level homes”), or you can get ideas from House Beautiful or any home or gardening magazine.

Here are a few simple low-cost ideas from RoseLake Estates that can have major impact:

  • Make your entryway inviting. Paint your front door a bright color such as red, teal or green. Add a large planter or two by the front door and fill them with shade-loving, flowering plants. Power wash and re-stain (or paint) your front porch to match your home’s trim color.
  • Create a walkway across your lawn to a side flower garden or parking area using slate, bricks or stepping stones.
  • Power wash your home’s vinyl siding and skirting, washing away the dirt, salt and grunge of winter.
  • Repaint any trim around the windows or door frames. Consider adding shutters to the outside of windows and paint them to match or coordinate with your front door color. Remember, you can paint house skirting as well.
  • Add a new flower garden or a rock garden to the front or side yard of your home. Plant flowers and small shrubs in coordinating sizes and colors that will bloom at alternating times throughout the season.

We love to show off our well-maintained, affordable neighborhood here at RoseLake Estates. Spring is a great time to come visit us just off I-69 Exit 214 in Pendleton.
