Unknown-1 Been to Carmel lately?

If not, venture out. This smallish city boasts great shopping, restaurants, arts, and outside activities perfect for spring and summer jaunts.

Just a few miles southwest of the affordable homes in Rose Lake Estates, Carmel is one of the Midwest’s fastest growing, economically-thriving suburban communities. Spanning 47 square miles across Clay Township into Hamilton County, the city takes route at 96th Street to the south and 146th Street to the north. East and West borders are White River (east) and Michigan Road to the west.

Signature Carmel attractions include:

  • The Arts & Design District and
  • The Center for the Performing Arts, which includes
  • 1600 seat Palladium concert hall.

Here’s what’s new in Carmel:

  • Carmel was recently named a Top 10 Best City for Kids last month, by Livability.com. Livability.com first identifies cities with high concentrations of school age kids, then takes a look at how their schools stack up against others across the country, including number of parks, playgrounds, libraries and recreational venues geared specifically for children, as well as the availability of great options for parents.
  • Carmel Parks and Recreation just opened a new waterpark at the Carmel Clay Parks Monon Center (1235 Central Park Drive East, Carmel).
